Pinnacle Racing Team (PRT Racing) has confirmed its three-driver line-up for the upcoming 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Endurance Series that will start this weekend.
Team owner Ate De Jong and Charlie Robertson will be reunited to pilot the team’s Pinbet88 supported Ginetta LMP3 prototype. De Jong began his motorsport career with touring cars in 2015 before moving up endurance sports car racing. Meanwhile, Robertson was the LMP3 class champion of the 2015 European Le Mans Series competing in a similar Ginetta prototype.
The pair worked well together during the inaugural Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup with three podium finishes and a race win. This allowed them to end the season with the driver’s and team’s vice championships.
Joining them for the 4 Hours of Zhuhai in China (October 28 – 30) and the 4 Hours of Fuji in Japan (December 2 – 4) as the team’s third driver is Martin Rump. The 20-year-old Estonian has had his successes in single seaters, securing the Formula Masters China Series in 2015. His most recent achievements are in the Audi R8 LMS Cup where he has won two races and currently sits fifth in the driver’s standing.
With De Jong, Robertson, and Rump, PRT Racing is confident that it can put up a strong challenge against the 33-car grid that consists of 11 LMP3 entries.
